Founded by A L Mailman to serve as a bedroom community for people working in Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas, Miramar has grown in stature over the last decade or so. Spread over an area of 31.28 square miles, Miramar can stake claim as a developed town today.

Bounded on land on all the four sides, this city has Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, West Park, and Miami-Dade County as its bordering towns. Miramar literally means ‘Facing the Sea’. You have the beach at very close vicinity.
This town has a mixed population with 46% comprising of Black Afro American population and 41% comprising of the White or Caucasian population. The males to females ratio is a bit skewed with 90 males available for every 100 females. The per capita income median is about $ 52,952 thereby confirming its status as a middle-class locality. This is a characteristic of the bedroom community.
Considering the population, you have good schools available in this town. The City of Miramar is the largest employer with around 900 employees. In fact, that should be an issue because most of the residents go to the nearby towns for employment.
